Bruce Springsteen Introduces Darlene Love and Stevie Van Zandt at American Music Honors, Bruce Springsteen Day Proclaimed
The inaugural American Music Honors ceremony took place this Saturday, April 15, celebrating the significant contributions made to American music by Steve Earle, Darlene Love, Sam Moore and Stevie Van Zandt. During an evening hosted by Jon Stewart, the honorees were introduced with speeches from Bruce Springsteen, Garry Tallent and Southside Johnny Lyon. Governor Phil Murphy was also on hand to officially proclaim September 23 as Bruce Springsteen Day in the State of New Jersey.
Performances were given by each of the night’s honorees backed by the Disciples of Soul, with all returning to the stage together at the end of the night for a show-stopping multi-song finale. The inaugural American Music Honors were hosted at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre and presented by the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. Read more here and here.
