NEW RELEASE FROM THE BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ARCHIVES: NEW YEAR’S EVE 1980 AT NASSAU COLISEUM
The next release from Bruce Springsteen’s archives is a tour-de-force, clocking in at almost four hours of music with 38 songs performed on New Year’s Eve 12/31/1980 at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY. This marks the first live release from The River Tour, and the first complete official recording of this legendary show. The “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” from this show appeared on the Live 1975-1985 box set, and “Rendezvous” was released on Tracks; all other songs are previously unreleased. Nassau 1980 is the fourth volume in the Bruce Springsteen Archive Series, joining Apollo Theater 2012, The Agora 1978, and Tower Theater 1975.
The 24-track master tapes, recorded live in the Record Plant Remote truck, were newly mixed by Toby Scott in March of 2015 after being meticulously transferred and restored via the Plangent Process and mastered at Gateway Sound. The complete concert is now available for download in high resolution 24 bit / 192 kHz formats, as well as CD-quality and MP3 downloads. The show is also available for pre-order as a 3 CD set, shipping late April.
